Cameras on iPhone 13 Pro models may be equipped with sensor shift stabilization to help create sharper images

Apple will launch the iPhone 13 series later this year and rumors and speculation have been around for some time. One of the latest rumors suggests that Apple is going to include sensor shift image stabilization and autofocus camera capabilities on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Apple introduced sensor-shift optical image stabilization for the wide camera lens on the iPhone 12 Pro Max last year and is expected to bring it to the Pro model this year with the Pro Max as well. When launching the iPhone 12 series, Apple mentioned that Sensor Shift Image Stabilization technology can stabilize an image at over 5,000 times / second.

This particular imaging technology moves the sensor, instead of the lens, to create a sharper image with better quality. This technology is also expected to help improve low-light photography using the larger sensor.

This “speculation” comes from a DigiTimes report which cites industry sources. The report adds that Apple will include the sensor-shift OIS on the wide and ultra-wide lenses of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In addition, the wide-angle camera will also have autofocus, according to reports. There are also rumors that Apple will bring the wide lens with sensor-shift OIS to all models in the iPhone 13 series.

In November of last year, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the next iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models would come with upgraded ultra-wide cameras. Kuo had said that the ultra-wide cameras of the two top-of-the-line iPhone 12 models would be upgraded to f / 1.8, 6P (six-element lens) with autofocus, compared to the f / 2.4.5P of the iPhone 12 . ‘iPhone 12 (five- element lens). Camera hardware aside, Apple’s ProRAW support is also expected to come from the iPhone 13 series.

On top of that, there are rumors that Apple could reduce the notch of the iPhone 13 series and possibly introduce a 120Hz panel. In addition, there are rumors that there could be a storage variant of 1. To on the iPhone 13 range.
